Citizen science means that anyone can contribute by collecting data about what species they've seen, and when and where they've seen it. Enormous data quantities are recorded every day. Researchers at the NTNU University museum have been trying to figure out how this data can be used to its full potential although there are large issues related to data quality and bias. Denne bøka er utstyr med en måleinstrument som registrerer bevegelsen av sevja under barken. Registeringene skjer hvert 15. min og sendes direkte ut på nett, dag etter dag, og år etter år. Med disse dataene kan forskere si noe om tørkestress og hvordan skogen reagerer på klimaendringene.
