DYLAN<\/strong> is a research project for evidence based management and conservation of natural and cultural heritage.DYLAN<\/strong> is supported by the Research Council of Norway, program Enviroment2015. DYLAN<\/strong> involves researchers in archaeology & cultural history, palaeoecology and biodiversity at the university museums in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Troms\u00f8, the Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage (NIKU) and Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). The four study areas are: Erdalen and Sunndalen in Jostedalsbreen National Park, Budalen conservation area, Dividalen conservation area and National Park, Grimsdalen conservation area.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n

The post conference excursion 24th and 25th September went to Budalen and Storbekk\u00f8ya summer-farm museum. 25 participants\u00a0had a\u00a0memorable and enjoyable event, with visits to a working farm and summer farm, cultural heritage sites and a walk up the valley side. Excursion participants ate traditionally prepared food and stayed in lavos and wood cabins and enjoyed\u00a0local music. Many thanks to\u00a0Berit Broen and Heidi Ydse from\u00a0SNO, Heidi Tovmo\u00a0and coworkers, Inge Johnsen and coworkers, Ingrid Storlimo & Jenny Gustavsson (Fox Family).<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Conference_People_and_Natur\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The People and Nature in Mountains conference took place in Trondheim 21st to 23rd September 2011. The conference was a great success, with 135 registered participants from 9 different countries, hosted in the SpareBank1 conference centre. Forty speakers and many posters were presented to delegates, stimulating many productive discussions. The NTNU Museum of Natural History and Archaeology would like to thank all participants for their presence and for making this event successful.<\/p>\n

The DYLAN project will organise a conference in Trondheim, Norway next year. The conference is entitled «People and nature in mountains: Changing land use and landscape dynamics».<\/p>\n

The conference will be held from the 21st to 23rd September 2011. The conference is hosted by The NTNU Museum of Natural History and Archaeology. Registration and abstract submission will open in spring 2011.<\/p>\n
