Visions from nature Freshwater — 06. jun 2017 The secret life of the Sea Trout By Jan Grimsrud Davidsen After two months of intensive fieldwork at Bindalen and Tosenfjorden in Nordland county we are now approaching the end of this springs tagging of sea trout. All in all, closer to 300 sea trout have been caught and tagged with acoustic transmitters so that their movements can now be closely monitored throughout these two fjord systems. The aim of this is to increase our knowledge about the sea trout movements and habitat use in the sea and how this is affected by human activity in the coastal zone. With good help from Adam Piper from the Zoological Society of London, and 9th grader Johan Valnesfjord, yet another sea trout is here being fitted with an electronic transmitter.
