En ny rapport som oppsummerer det tverrvitenskelige arbeidet som er gjort i Budalen er nå tilgjengelig. Natur- og kulturminner i Budalen landskapsvernområde: Arkeologiske, historiske, vegetasjonshistoriske og

The post conference excursion 24th and 25th September went to Budalen and Storbekkøya summer-farm museum. 25 participants had a memorable and enjoyable event, with visits to a working farm and summer farm, cultural heritage sites and a walk up the valley side. Excursion participants ate traditionally prepared food and stayed in lavos and wood cabins and enjoyed local music. Many thanks to Berit Broen and Heidi Ydse from SNO, Heidi Tovmo and coworkers, Inge Johnsen and coworkers, Ingrid Storlimo & Jenny Gustavsson (Fox Family).

The People and Nature in Mountains conference took place in Trondheim 21st to 23rd September 2011. The conference was a great success, with 135 registered participants from 9 different countries, hosted in the SpareBank1 conference centre. Forty speakers and many posters were presented to delegates, stimulating many productive discussions. The NTNU Museum of Natural History and Archaeology would like to thank all participants for their presence and for making this event successful.

Den 24-26 augusti var det tid för Norsk Pollenmøte i Tromsø. Trots namnet är det ett möte för alla med en paleoekologisk anknytning – dendroekologer, makrofossilanalytiker, etnobotaniker, miljöarkeologer och, givetvis, pollenanalytiker. Även om mängden av fagfält stor så är det ett relativt litet forskningsområde, och med ett möte vartannat år får man en ganska familjär stämning. Ett gyllne tillfälle att få uppdaterat vad som sker runt om i landet, och då ingen är rädd för att tappa ansiktet får man inte bara höra om de lyckade projekten, utan även om vad som gått snett, vilket är nästan lika viktigt då man kan dra nyttig lärdom av det för sitt egna arbete. DYLAN-miljøn med sitt fokus på de långa tidsramarna innanför ekologin var givetvis väl representerat (1/3!). Det var därför extra kul att vi kunde lägga exkursionen till Dividalen och få presenterat och ett av undersökningsområdena direkt i fält, samt att få diskuterat det med en stor del av landets samlade expertis. The DYLAN workshop 2011 took place at Bergen Museum, University of Bergen 10th and 11th of March. Around 30 scientists involved in the project participated. Pdf-files of some presentations could be downloaded here.

Bergen Museum
The 2011 workshop for all project members and the advisory group in Dylan will be at Bergen Museum, University of Bergen in March. We will start with an open workshopon on the 10th with invited guests from different management departments, while the workshop on the 11th will be an internal workshop for the members of the Dylan project including the advisory group.

The DYLAN project will organise a conference in Trondheim, Norway next year. The conference is entitled «People and nature in mountains: Changing land use and landscape dynamics».
The conference will be held from the 21st to 23rd September 2011. The conference is hosted by The NTNU Museum of Natural History and Archaeology. Registration and abstract submission will open in spring 2011.
